Reddit Coins are a virtual good you can use on Reddit to buy awards for other redditors. If someone makes a post, comment, or live video broadcast you want to show your appreciation for, you can give it an award to show how you feel about it. New awards come out all the time, and some awards give the recipient something extra, like Reddit Coins or the ability to use Reddit without ads.
Purchasing coins and managing your balance
To purchase Reddit Coins on the web, visit the Reddit Coins page. Or, if you’re using the Reddit app, you can purchase coins by tapping on your avatar to open your profile menu, then selecting Reddit Coins. You can view your Reddit Coin balance underneath your username in the top right of your screen if you’re using Reddit on your desktop computer, or by tapping your avatar and opening your profile menu from the Reddit mobile app or mobile web.
Giving Reddit Coins to someone as part of an award
You can’t transfer Reddit Coins between accounts. However, many awards give the recipient something extra, including Reddit Coins. So you can purchase an award for someone that also gives them Reddit Coins, but it won’t be an equal transfer of coins from one account to another.
